Reading the first DUNE book of the DUNE series by Frank Herbert. So good. One of my all-time fav books. Also a book that I consider the Bible of my life, just as it is to Kyle MacLachlan (the Paul Atreides himself).
If anyone hadn't picked it up at the beginning of Twin Peaks: Chasing A Blue Rose (Part II), I made a great intriguing, and intimate scene between Agent Cooper and Agent Preslocke on how they first met. The test that was done was similar to that of what the Reverend Mother in DUNE did to Paul Atreides, and in replacement of the Box was the green glove that Freddie used to cast BOB out of our world.
I love DUNE so much, and the fact David Lynch made a film adaptation to it back in 1984, and starring Kyle MacLachlan as Paul was so amazing to me. I think there is so much connection between DUNE, Blue Velvet, and Twin Peaks that make up our beloved Agent Cooper. And for the glove-pain-test scene in Twin Peaks: Chasing A Blue Rose (Part II), I thought it would be a fun way to honor that love and cherishment I have for DUNE.
